“Sumi” is the redesign product of “Yusan-bako” which is the
traditional picnic box / sweets box descended in Tokushima
prefecture in the western part of Japan.

“Yusan-bako” is a three-tiered food box with two-tired outer box
for the portable use.

The traditional “Yusan-bako” has two holes on both sides of the outer
box. Therefore, you had to use both hands to open them.
However, Sumi allows to pull the inner boxes by only one hand due to the change of the position of these holes to the edge of the outer box.

Sumi is accomplished by the collaboration with wood work- craftsmen in Tokushima prefecture.

This is a series of products of accessory cases and pen stands.
Their shapes are triangles, squares and rhombi.
Each box has magnets on its sides and by combining a few of them, you can
make a geometrically beautiful shape autonomously.
The larger structures of combined elements show a similar pattern to be seen in the chemical formula.

全て違う大きさの正方形を組み合わせて作る事ができる長方形は、
「Perfect Rectangles」（完璧なる長方形）という名前で呼ばれています。
SQUARESは、この非常に稀な図形からデザインされたシリーズです。
羊の皮を樹脂で磨いてくという特殊な技法で作られた表情は、
他の技法では表現できない美しい仕上げになっています。

Rectangles which can be built up of squares, all of different sizes, are called ‘Perfect Rectangles’.

SQUARES is an accessory case that is designed by rectangles.
The surface was polished by
a piano finish with sheepskin, which is a unique technique of making traditional mirror stands in
the Tokushima prefecture, Japan.
All the drawers of SQUARES are locked until the center drawer is open.

This is a traditional trick used for Japanese drawers.

Cartesia stands for the “Cartesian coordinate system”, that is translated into a structure of drawers that have the capacity to open in two directions. 
This special quality makes it especially suitable for room corners.
The new type of system that can open the different cases at the same time, is a fundamental shift from the traditional modus operandi.
The characteristic form of Cartesia, an inverted trapezium, is related on a rationally based design that implies handles.

Imaginary is a table that refers to the mathematical term of  “imaginary number”.
It includes an invisible drawer that allows to hide our cutlery and documents.

UNIT is a series of interior, that is made of the same specification.
Combine the chair and the law table. They transform into a bench.
Confine the stool and the chair. They become a low table.
This series is a flexible interior solution that can be used in numerous ways.

FRAMES is the simple mirror, which has cube shape like monolith,
on the same area of base as usual mirror with wheels.

Since flat shape as 2D mirror changes to cube shape as 3D,
the mirror can be used by 4people at the sometime, having inside storage,
and hiding wheels perfectly.
It is a small change of a shape, but a big innovation on function of the mirror.

This simple design will suit every boutiques and salons.
This is the mirror of the next generation of Tokushima,
which had tradition of making mirror dresser in Japan.

The nature rule tells us that strong structures are constructed by creating triangles, which is called ‘TRUSS’ structure.
This shelf was designed taking advantage of the truss structure to make it light and strong.
All pillars and column plates are constructed of three boards, which make a triangle shape.
The sharp edge of the triangles made by the truss structure realize a very thin look from the front face.
